gRDV Messages does not replace your mail server. It connects WordPress to your existing mailbox via IMAP and SMTP. You can keep using established email addresses while making communication structured, on-brand and accessible on mobile within WordPress.

gRDV Messages does not operate a separate external mailbox. The plugin runs in your WordPress installation and connects to the IMAP and SMTP servers you configure. Messages, contacts, attachments and status data required by the plugin interface are stored in WordPress or the local uploads directory. Your email provider continues to process email within your existing infrastructure.
Apart from the mail servers you configure, the Free version does not contact any gR DV service. Pro additionally uses the gRDV licence and update service. When web push is enabled, encrypted push content is sent to the push service provided by the browser.



What is the difference between Free and Pro?

Free includes day-to-day email management with unlimited mailboxes, user assignments, a shared inbox, mobile access, one global template and flexible synchronisation. Pro adds web push, status and open signals, scheduled sending, multiple template profiles, additional and custom design presets, a mobile rich-text composer, IMAP IDLE, configuration transfer and compatible integrations.

Does gRDV Messages replace my email client?

Not entirely. gRDV Messages adds a WordPress and web-app interface for selected business mailboxes to your existing email setup. Other email clients can continue to use the same accounts in parallel.

Can I compose new email or only reply?

You can do both. gRDV Messages includes a new-message composer in WordPress Admin and the mobile web app.

Is gRDV Messages an SMTP plugin?

SMTP sending is included, but it is not the sole purpose. gRDV Messages combines IMAP retrieval, SMTP sending, conversations, templates, signatures and a mobile web app.

Where is email stored?

The original mailbox remains with your email provider. For the plugin interface, gRDV Messages additionally stores synchronised messages, contacts, conversation data and attachment data in your WordPress installation. Attachments are encrypted in the local uploads directory.

Does gRDV Messages work on mobile?

Yes. gRDV Messages provides a mobile web app for reading, replying to and composing email.

Can I manage multiple email addresses?

Yes. Unlimited mailboxes and user assignments are already included in Free. Pro is not required based on the number of accounts.

Does gRDV Messages work with WooCommerce or form plugins?

gRDV Messages designs and manages messages processed through its own interface and supported integrations. It does not automatically replace email templates used by WordPress, WooCommerce or arbitrary form plugins.

Can gRDV Messages be used in compliance with the GDPR?

gRDV Messages provides features for local data storage, access control and encrypted storage. Whether a specific implementation is compliant depends on factors including hosting, the email provider, access rights, retention, the privacy policy and the use of tracking and web push. This does not replace a legal assessment.

Can I use push notifications?

Web push is a Pro feature. An administrator must configure push, after which it must be enabled separately on each device. The push service used is determined by the browser and operating system.
